Pharmacist held for accepting bribe

A pharmacist was caught red-handed by Lokayukta Police when he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from a Special Armed Force (SAF) constable for clearing his medical bill.

The pharmacist, Brajendra Gupta was posted in the Government Hukumchand Poly Clinic.

According to police, Gupta demanded Rs 3000 from Satish Sharma for clearing a medical bill of Rs 45,000 through the district's Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO).

On a tip-off, Lokayukta Police laid a trap and caught Gupta.

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him, police said.
