Customs officials seized a huge consignment of phensedyl from a truck in the city last night and arrested two persons in connection.
Official sources today said acting on tip-off officials from the Customs department seized 5,000 bottles of phensedyl being transported illegally. The seizure was made at Betkuchi locality in Guwahati.
The consignment was stored inside cartoons containing diapers. Two persons -- the driver and the handyman -- of the truck has been arrested.
The phensedyl consignment was allegedly being transported from outside the state. Customs and police are investigating the matter.
