Singer Phil Collins has called Adele a 'slippery little fish' after she never got back to him about to him about a piece of music she'd asked him to finish.

Adele, 26, asked the 63-year-old legendary singer if he would write with her, but then things went quiet, reported Daily Mirror.

"She's a slippery little fish is Adele. She got hold of me and asked if I would write with her. She gave me a piece of music to finish and at first I didn't know if I'd failed the audition as I didn't hear back from her," Collins said.

"Then she said, 'No, no, I'm moving house and the baby's taking up a lot of my time, I'm not actually doing anything at the moment.' And now I've heard there's a 29 coming out. I'm not on it, I know that.

Adele is reportedly in talks to join music giant Sony in a staggering 80 million pounds deal that would see her given her own record label.

The 'Someone Like You' hitmaker is considering the move after clashing with current label XL Recordings over her upcoming third album.

If negotiations are successful she could end up ditching the company after an eight year working relationship.
