President Ram Nath Kovind today said that along with spiritual connectivity, the country needs physical connectivity through large-scale infrastructure projects.
Kovind was speaking after inaugurating a function to observe Saibaba Samadhi Shatabdi Mahotsav, the 100th death anniversary of Sai Baba. The function was organised by Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST) at the famous shrine here.
He said Sai Baba attracted the people of every caste, religion, sect and class.

"Using simple phrases such as 'sabka malik ek' (one god governs all), Sai Baba explained the philosophy of 'advaita' to the common man. His influence can be seen all over the world," the president said.
"Along with spiritual connectivity, the country also needs physical connectivity through large infrastructure projects," said Kovind, who earlier inaugurated the newly- built Shirdi airport and flagged off the first commercial flight from the facility.
He further said, "Some followers believe that Sai Baba was born in Pathri village in Marathwada's Parbhani district. As a token of gratitude, we must think about building a grand memorial of Sai Baba at his birth place."
The president also paid obeisance at the Sai Baba Samadhi temple.
