Physically handicap student commits suicide in Mathura

A 22-year-old physically handicap student allegedly committed suicide here after consuming poison, police said.

Pawan Kumar, an engineering student at BSA College, consumed poison in his room after attending college on Tuesday afternoon.

As his condition started deteriorating, Kumar called one of his friend residing nearby, who informed his family about the incident. His family rushed Kumar to the district hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 50-year-old woman was buried alive after the earth caved in when she along with her daughter was digging it up on the outskirts of the village.

The incident occurred in Nausherpur village of the district.
 

Police said the victim, Javitri, along with her daughter Neelam, 18, was digging on the outskirts of the village when they were buried under the mound of earth.

Both were rushed to a hospital where Javitri was declared dead.
