The Kerala High Court today dismissed a PIL against the appointment of Dr K Radhakrishnan as Director of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences at Thiruvananthapuram, an institute of national importance under the central government, holding that the petition was filed out of 'personal vendetta'

However, the court said he cannot hold the office of Director beyond the age of 65.

Coming down on petitioner Dr Arun Kumar Gupta of NIMHANS, Bangalore, a division bench, comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and justice K Vinod Chandran, said it was clear that the petitioner had approached the court with 'personal vendetta'.'

Observing that he had left the institute three years ago, the judges said the petitioner was bent upon tarnishing the image of the Director on some ground or the other "which we cannot but deprecate".
