The division bench of Chief Justice Bhaskar Bhattacharya and Justice J B Pardiwala also issued notice to the state government and Jamnagar district collector, seeking replies on legal status of the residential complex.

The PIL alleges that construction is on without requisite permissions from the district authorities.

Shamji Chavda, resident of Bharana village (which is near the construction site), has filed the petition. Next hearing would take place after two weeks.

The construction had received no permissions from Vadinar Area Development Authority, said petitioner's lawyer Vijay Nangesh.

State had accepted "illegality of the construction by the EOL" in reply to an RTI query, the petition claims.

Petitioner demands that the company be directed to remove the construction and action be taken against its officials.
