PIL filed in HC seeking removal of advertisements at traffic

A PIL has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking a direction to authorities to remove all the advertisements at traffic signals and other devices erected for traffic control.

When the PIL filed by NGO Coimbatore Consumer Cause came up, the first bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R.Mahadevan, impleaded National Highways Authority of India as a party in the case.

Following this, the government pleader took notice on behalf of the state government and assistant solicitor general took notice for the NHAI.

The bench then adjourned the case to January 18.
