The Madras High Court today issued
notice to authorities concerned on a PIL seeking a direction for submitting a status report on multi-storeyed hospitals and educational institutions obtaining completion certificates from agencies like Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority and Director of Fire and Rescue Services.
The First Bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice T.S. Sivagnanam, ordered notice returable by November 5 on the petition filed by one Jawaharlal Shanmugam.
The petitoner alleged that not a single building insidee Sri Ramachandra Medical University in Porur Chennai, has got a completion certificate and even management has not applied for it.
He further alleged that the MCI ramp rules were also not complied with by the University in its campus.
