A plea was today filed in the Delhi High Court seeking directions for properly management of the official websites of district courts here and update information of daily orders, cause lists and Judges on leave.

A bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath, however, asked the petitioner to make necessary changes in the cause title and file an amended writ petition.

The petitioner has made the Chief Justice Delhi High Court as a party in the PIL.

The petitioner contended in his petition that "daily orders of many courts here are not uploaded on the official websites regularly thereby causing immense hardship to the counsel as well as the parties concerned".

"The information regarding judges on leave is also not uploaded, thereby causing immense harassment and agony to the public at large and crucial time of the public gets wasted in appearing before the Court.

"Further, it was also noted that cause lists of many courts are not uploaded prior to the dates fixed, which also create difficulty amongst the lawyers and the parties concerned," the petitioner's advocate Amit Sahni said in his PIL.

"Uploading of daily orders and cause list by the connected staff official is mandatory as per circular(s) issued by the District and Sessions Judges," it said, adding that the same is not done by around 30 per cent of courts.

The plea said that the official website of the Delhi High Court is managed in a proper way so the district courts should follow the foot prints of the High Court's website.

"The information provided would also bring transparency in the working of lower courts," the plea added.
