Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot has accused the state BJP government of adopting a discriminatory policy against farmers and not approving power connections to them on time.

The BJP government has adopted a policy of discrimination towards Rajasthan farmers and agriculture at large. What it had announced or promised for the agriculture sector is not being given on time, Pilot said in a statement here.

The power companies were not having proper facilities and equipment to enable farmers to get electricity connection. Also the Raje-government was not approving power connections to farmers on time, he said.

Farmers' interests were neglected. After two crop (rabi and kharif) failures due to disturbed weather conditions farmers were in shambles, the state Congress chief said.

The state government had collected one-time money for providing drip irrigation, but the connections have still not being granted, he added.
