Singer Pink has been named Woman of the Year by a reputed magazine.

The 34-year-old singer said she was shocked to hear about the accolade bestowed on her by Billboard magazine, reported Contactmusic.

"I was absolutely shocked and surprised to hear that Billboard named me Woman of the Year. It has been an incredible year and I feel so grateful," Pink said.

"Pink has almost been in a class by herself among women in music this year, and we are thrilled to recognise her successes by honouring her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award," Bill Werde, Billboard's Editorial Director, said.

The singer will accept the accolade at the upcoming 2013 Billboard Women in Music event in New York City in December.
