A stretch of Vikas Marg abutting Laxmi Nagar metro station was flooded today due to a pipeline burst, causing hardship to locals and severe traffic congestion in the busy market area.
The incident was reported around 9 am, a PWD official said. Delhi Jal Board (DJB), in a statement, said it was repairing the leakage, which would affect water supply in east Delhi till tomorrow morning.
Supply would be affected in several areas of central and south Delhi, on July 26 and 27, as the agency would undertake plugging of another leakage near Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van near Sarai Kale Khan, the statement said.

The east Delhi areas that may be hit by a water crisis are Nirman Vihar, Preet Vihar, East Laxmi market, Defence Enclave, Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur, Mayur Vihar Phase-I/II/III, Vinod Nagar, Mandawli, Trilokpuri, among others.
