The .32 mm pistol with unspecified rounds of live ammunition was seized from a passenger Tryber Singh who had a ticket to Kolkata, police said.
Sub-inspector of police R Lalbiakhlua seized the weapon from Singh at the gate of the security hall.
It was being probed as to how Singh could pass through the x-ray and other security checks, including physical frisking, police added.
