Pitrapaksha fair starts at Gaya

The deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi today inaugurated the Pitrapaksha fair here.

The fair will continue till September 20.

More than 10 lakh people, many of them foreigners, are expected to visit the Pitrapaksha fair to pay respect to their ancestors.

Commissioner of Magadh division Jitendra Shrivastava said that a team of doctors have been deployed round-the-clock for convenience of visitors.

More than 3000 policemen, including 350 women constables would be on duty during the event, he said.

Around 100 CCTv cameras have been installed in and around the fair venue at the bank of river Falgu, he added.
