In order to reduce queues, the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST) has decided to start the registration of devotees for darshan at the Shridi shrine in three months on the lines of the famous Tirupati temple.
"The move is aimed at saving time of lakhs of pilgrims. The SSST will start 'Plan Darshan' within three months", Trusts' newly appointed chairperson Suresh Haware told reporters here last night.
"We will use the digital media and open various booking centres where devotees will have to register their names. The SSST will fix the time of their visit. This way the devotees can avoid standing in queues at the shrine," he said.

The SSST presently runs a junior college (11th and 12th standard) in Shirdi.
Haware said Mahindra and Mahindra has dedicated a 40 crore litre capacity water storing pond to the Trust.
According to the chairperson, the Trust is also trying to develop Shirdi as an "entertainment city" by setting up a laser show among others.
