A Mumbai-bound Air India plane carrying 142 passengers landed 35 minutes before scheduled time as one of them, who was earlier rescued from quake- devastated Nepal, suffered a panic attack.

The incident occurred on Air India flight AI 602, which took off for Mumbai from Delhi yesterday.

When contacted, an Air India spokesperson said there was a medical emergency onboard the plane which was attended.

"As the flight AI-602 was on its way to Mumbai there was an announcement made by the hostess, asking if there was any doctor onboard to attend a medical emergency," one of the passengers said.

"The woman was suffering from anxiety (panic) attack and had returned from Nepal, and was apparently uneasy even before the trip. Within minutes, she was attended by two doctors," the passenger said.

A doctor and an ambulance were waiting as soon as the plane came to a halt.
