Plans to create industrial park exclusively for women in TN

The local chapter of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) has plans to to create an industrial park exclusively for women entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu, its Chairman Devika Ramesh said today.

Talking to reporters here, Devika said that land has been earmarked for such parks in Telengana, Gujarat and Karnataka and have in principle agreement from Assam, Haryana, Meghalaya, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

The local chapter would soon approach the State government seeking allotment of land for the project.

With a vision to empower women, the organisation would provide training in driving, tailoring, non-teaching jobs in school and beautician, she said.
 

Stating that FLO here has already provided training in tailoring to more than 100 women and a batch of 25 has been started now, she said that certificates will be given after successful completion of the training program and will help them to get placed.
