Hugh Hefner has sold the Playboy mansion to his next door neighbor.

The 20,000-square-foot home has been sold for an undisclosed amount to Daren Metropoulos, the principal at Metropoulos & Company, a private equity firm, reported Huffington Post.

The mansion, located in the ritzy Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, was put on the market for USD 200 million in January.

As part of the deal, Hefner, 90, will be allowed to live in the mansion for the rest of his life.

The Playboy magazine mogul has lived in the mansion since the company bought it 45 years ago for over USD 1 million.

Built in 1927, the property sits on five acres. It includes 29 rooms, a game house, home theater, wine cellar and a swimming pool with a cave-like grotto.
