Plays by special children to be focus of Jashnebachpan 2012

The festival, in its 11th year now, will open with 'Dakghar' by Bodhir Bidya Bhawan, Kolkata while 'Dastaan-E-Dilli' by Arth-Aastha will be closing performance. Both the plays are by special children. 'Buddhuram' by Seagul Theatre, Guwahati, is also in the list.

The 11-day festival will run from November 18 to 28. It will be inaugurated by eminent actor Mohan Agashe in the NSD's campus and showcase 17 plays by and for children. The plays are being organised by Sanskaar Rang Toli (TIE Co) of NSD.

The participating groups at Jashnebachpan 2012 are from different regions of the country. They will be performed in Hindi, Bangla, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Nepali, Manipuri, Tamil and English and most of the plays will sub-titles.

 

In addition to this, an interaction session is scheduled to take place from 19th to 29th November daily with the play directors, group leaders and group members.

'Jashnebachpan' was started in 1998 by TIE Co, NSD in order to contribute to the growth and development of children's theatre across the country, and has now grown into one of the largest theatre festivals in India for Children.
