The Madras High Court today sought to know from Tamil Nadu government as to why it should not order re-examination of the Class-XII mathematics paper held on March 18 following reports of malpractice.
The petitioner, the parent of a student, sought direction to the Director of Education and the Director of Government Examinations to conduct re-examination for the subject as it was alleged that the question paper was photographed and was sent to various persons by some teachers of a private school.
Justice T S Sivagnanam directed additional government pleader to reply by April 7, on the petition.

The petitioner submitted 118 employees of the Education Department were transferred in connection with the malpractice.
The question paper which was sent through WhatsApp by the teachers also got the answers through it to the teachers who were supervising the examinations, the petitioner submitted and prayed for conducting re-examination of the subject.
