On the basis of requests made by various members due to peak hour traffic snarls with the Kochi Metro work progressing in various parts of Kochi, the issue was deliberated at an executive meeting held on June 25 following which it was placed before the general body today.
"Though there was opposition from some quarters, a majority of the advocates supported the change of timings", he said.
Meanwhile, Senior advocate V P Seemanthini, opposed the move saying it was impractical as advocates from far off places would find it difficult to reach the court so early.
The association will be informing the court tomorrow itself about the plea, Chali said.
