On a tip-off, a Rourkela police team led by Superintendent of Police Himansu Lal along with their Jharkhand counterpart raided a hide-out in Jaldega area in the neighbouring state late last night after which the PLFI members fired from AK-47, machine guns and other weapons, police said.
In the gun battle that ensued, a PLFI member, Rajan (22) was killed while four others - Samuel Munda (19), Sunli Singh (20), Dillip Singh (25) and Johnson Munda (20) - were injured, they said adding the four injured and another gang member were arrested. The injured have been shifted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here.
