Plumber who kidnapped 16-year-old held from Noida

A plumber who allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl, promising to marry her has been arrested by the crime branch from Noida in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The girl was kidnapped by the 23-year-old accused originally from Bokla village in Gazipur of Uttar Pradesh. An offence under section 363 (punishment for kidnapping) of the IPC was registered against the accused on November 18 with Kasarwadavali police station, Sr PI Nitin Thackeray of the Thane crime unit-I said.

The crime branch officials got a tip that the accused had fled to Delhi. A police team was sent there in search of the duo and the police zeroed on them at Noida.
 

The team nabbed the couple who were staying in Noida. They have been brought back to Thane and handed over to Kasarwadavali police for further probe, police added.
