PM asks secular forces to join hands against NaMo

Cautioning the nation against the "onslaught" of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today asked all secular forces to come together against him and expressed the hope that people will vote against BJP by realizing what they are up for.

Singh said his government may have made "some mistakes" during the last nine years' of its rule but has done "a lot of good things" which he hoped the "generous" people will take into account while voting.

"I sincerely hope all secular forces will combine to face the onslaught of people like Mr Narendra Modi. You will see that will happen when people realize what they are up for," he told accompanied mediapersons while returning from a visit to the US.
 

He was responding when asked for his comments on the perceived emergence of Modi in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

To a question whether UPA could get a third term, Singh said he could not say anything about that as it was for the people to "make that choice.
