Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled on Friday the demise of Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang, saying India has fond memories of his "great friendship".
Tran Dai Quang died Friday at the age of 61 after a serious illness.
"Deepest and heartfelt condolences to the party, nation and people of Vietnam, and to the family of member of the Politburo and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam H.E. Mr. Tr?n Dai Quang," Modi tweeted.
He said, "We have fond memories of his great friendship for India and his successful state visit in March this year".
