Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated scientists on the successful test fire of nuclear capable Prithvi-II surface-to-surface missile and said it is a result of their hard work.
"I congratulate the hard work of our scientists that has been instrumental in the successful test fire of Prithvi-II missile," the Prime Minister said.
The indigenously developed missile, which has a strike range of 350 km, was test fired from a test range at Chandipur in Odisha as part of a user trial by Army.
Defence sources said the missile, which is capable of carrying 500 kg to 1,000 kg of warheads, was test-fired from a mobile launcher in salvo mode from launch complex-3 of Integrated Test Range.
