Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief at the death of former Congress MP Mohinder Kaur, mother of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
"Saddened by demise of Rajmata Mohinder Kaur. Her dedication to serving society was remarkable. Condolences to Amarinder Singh and his family," Modi tweeted.
Amarinder replied back tweeting "Dear Narendra Modi ji my family and I thank you for your condolence message on the passing away of my mother, it was most thoughtful of you"

Congress president Sonia Gandhi also condoled her death and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
"Kaur leaves behind a formidable legacy," she said in her condolence message.
