PM for strengthening Indo-Japan coop in disaster management

As he prepares to visit Japan next week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today pitched for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction and disaster management.

He made the comments while receiving a delegation of Japanese Parliamentarians here.

The Prime Minister recalled his interaction with the Japan-India Parliamentarians' Friendship League in September and welcomed increased interaction between the legislatures of both countries, the PMO said in a statement.

Modi also called for strengthening exchanges between State-level legislatures, it added.

The Prime Minister also said he is looking forward to his visit to Japan next week.

Modi will be undertaking a two-day visit to Japan from November 11.
