PM gifts commemorative stamp on Indian Museum to Mamata

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today gifted his copy of the commemorative stamp on the completion of 200 years of Indian Museum to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

At the inaugural function of the bicentenary celebrations of the museum, the oldest in Asia, the two leaders shared the dais in the newly-renovated campus of the 200-year-old institution.

After launching the commemorative stamp at the lawns of the Indian Museum, Singh presented his copy of the stamp to Banerjee who accepted it gladly.

The two also went round the museum together to have a look at the renovated galleries along with Governor M K Narayanan.
