With the CBI writing to the Prime Minister's Office seeking all records related to the allocation of coal block to Hindalco, BJP today said the PM should resign.
"The CBI has demanded all files related to coal block allocation from the PMO. Now what is the PM waiting for? Is he waiting to be quizzed by the agency?" BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.
He alleged that at the time when scam took place the coal ministry was with the PM and therefore the entire responsibility was his.

Javadekar said that in the CWG scam, Suresh Kalmadi was held responsible because the files were finally signed by him and the same goes for the then Telecom minister A Raja for the 2G scam.
He alleged that the PM finally signed files relating to coal block allotment to 140 companies, then why he was not being held responsible.
Terming the attack on Indian posts by Pakistan as unacceptable the BJP leader said, "We should give a fitting reply so that Pakistan do not dare to repeat this."
Alleging that the "weak" economic policies of the Congress-led government were responsible for inflation in the country at a time when prices were falling across the world, the BJP leader said they were also responsible for the sky-rocketing price of onions.
Javadekar also alleged SP and BSP were equally responsible for price rise with Congress as they were keeping the UPA government alive by extending support.
Attacking Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi he said, "Rahul has said that Congress is well wisher of farmers. I challenge him for a debate. It's Congress which has created problems for them."
In a reply to a question regarding Rahul's allegation on BJP of triggering riots Javadekar said he should look into the history of his party as to who caused the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
