Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with the Indian table tennis players who won medals in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) this year on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
During the interaction with the players, the prime minister talked about the rise of sporting talent from small towns and stressed the need to nurture it.
The sportspersons had called on the prime minister at his Parliament House office.
Modi congratulated the medal winners for their exemplary performance in the international arena and said that they had made the entire nation proud, a release from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore were also present on the occasion.
