Prime Minister Narendra Modi today wished India's chess wizard Viswanathan Anand "good luck" for his World Championship match against reigning champion Magnus Carlsen.

The 12-game match will begin on Saturday in Sochi, Russia and will culminate on November 27.

"Good Luck Vishy! Conveying my best wishes to our pride, Viswanathan Anand for the World Chess Championship in Sochi," said the Prime Minister in his message.

The opening ceremony for the match is slated for tomorrow.

Anand had lost his crown to Carlsen last year in Chennai and then won the Challenger tournament to earn the right to face the 23-year-old Norwegian again.
