Prime Minister Narendra Modi today praised Indian Armed Forces on Armed Forces Flag Day and appealed for generous donation by all for the welfare of the forces.
"On Armed Forces Flag Day, I appeal to all of you to generously donate towards welfare of our Armed Forces, who serve our Nation day and night," the Prime Minister said.
He said our Armed Forces have always risen to the occasion and performed every duty with a patriotic spirit.
"Their selfless dedication is outstanding," Modi said.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today presented a draft of Rs 5 crore to the Prime Minister, for the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
The amount includes one month's salary donated by all MPs and MLAs, and a day's salary from various officers and workers unions.
