PM releases biography of Sardar Patel in braille

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a biography of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in braille.

The braille version has been prepared by A Saibaba Goud for the benefit of the visually challenged.

Goud also runs the Devnar School for the Blind in Hyderabad, a statement said here.

MP Bandaru Dattatreya was present on the occasion.

In his maiden Budget speech, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had promised to make rupee notes and coins more accessible for the visually challenged.

Railways will launch a new train with all its coaches equipped with braille-embedded signages on berths, toilets, wash basins and doors as part of the 100-day agenda being finalised by the national transporter.
