A Congress leader today claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's image is on the "wane" due to his 'failure' in implementing poll promises and 'prevent corruption' after coming to power last year.

"The image of Modi is on the wane now and the BJP ruled states - Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh - are reeling under corruption," AICC Secretary Chinna Reddy said here.

Addressing a meeting of the Working Committee of the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee, Reddy, who is In-charge of party affairs in the Union territory, alleged that the Prime Minister was not doing anything to prevent corruption.

No step had been taken to implement promises held out during the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls, he charged.

Reddy urged the cadres to meet people and acquaint them with "failures" of the Central and the Puducherry's ruling AINRC government.
