Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben today visited a temple in Vikarabad town, about 70 km from here, and offered prayers.
When contacted, Prahlada Rao, Vikarabad district BJP chief said she came to the town on an invitation by one Ramesh, a former municipal councillor of Vikarabad.
"She came along with her brother and two others last night. They stayed in Ramesh's house. This morning, she visited Santoshi Mata Temple in Vikarabad town and offered prayers," Rao told PTI.
When contacted, G Ravi, Circle Inspector of Vikarabad town said there was no protocol or security advice on her visit.
She was scheduled to leave from Vikarabad in the evening, Ravi said.
A few local BJP leaders accompanied her during temple visit.
