PM, Sonia to launch integrated 'Adhaar' on Oct 20 in Raj

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today took stock of situation ahead of the visit and directed the officials to finalise the preparation of the event which would be attended by over one lakh people, an official sources said here today.

The schemes including MGNREGA, Mukhyamantri BPL Gramin Awas Yojna, Pension scheme under social security, Asha Sehyogini payment and Chief Minister's Scholarship scheme will be integrated with the Aadhaar card, he said.

"The objective of the concept is to ensure that the advantage of the government schemes and programmes would reach to the genuine beneficiaries. It will help in reducing bogus ration cards and other documents and leave no space for ambiguity," Sanjay Malhotra, Secretary, department of information technology and communication, said.

 

The new integration will ensure transparency in implementation of the schemes, he added.

A technical presentation will also be given and some officers will be felicitated for their outstanding work, he said.

Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Union MoS for Communications and IT Sachin Pilot, Union MoS for Planning Ashwani Kumar, Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India Nandan Nilekani are also scheduled to attend the event, he added.

"Elaborate security arrangements will be in place for which more than 3,000 policemen are being deployed. The entire arrangements are foolproof," Additional DG (Law and Order), Navdeep Singh, said. The town is about 60 kms from here.

This would be Gandhi's second visit to the state in less than two months. She visited Barmer to inaugurate Barmer lift canal and Jaipur to meet victims of heavy rains on August 30.
