PM to review Kashmir situation tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tomorrow review the situation in Jammu and Kashmir arising out of the killing a top militant of Hizbul Mujahideen Burhan Wani, soon after his return from a five-nation tour of Africa.

A senior government officer said the Prime Minister will be given a detailed presentation on the prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley arising out of violent protests following the killing of Wani on Friday.

So far, 23 people have lost their lives in continued violence ever since the news of Wani's killing in an encounter made public.

NSA Ajit Doval, who was accompanying Modi, cut short his visit and returned to Delhi today and attended a security review meeting along with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
 

The Prime Minister is expected to arrive here early tomorrow and will attend the meeting within hours.

The Home Minister, the Defence Minister and top officials are expected to attend the meeting.
