Singh, accompanied by his wife Gursharan Kaur, will visit Tokyo from November 15-18 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.
The two Prime Ministers will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of common interest during their annual summit which is aimed at further enhancing and strengthening strategic and global partnership between India and Japan, a Ministry of External Affairs statement said.
Singh will also meet other Japanese leaders and Indian businessmen during the visit. He, along with his wife, will receive an audience by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.
The bilateral meeting is scheduled for November 16, said Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba in Tokyo and added the two leaders are expected to discuss strengthening of strategic ties in maritime security and economic ties.
On the second leg of his tour, the Prime Minister will visit Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from November 18-20 to attend the 10th ASEAN-India Summit and 7th East Asia Summit. (more)
