PMK cadres arrested for attempting to lock liquor shops

All those arrested for staging the state-wide protest were later released, police said.

Hundreds of party cadres led by Ramadoss attempted to lock the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) run Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) outlet in T.Nagar area of the city when they were detained, police said.

Similarly PMK president G K Mani and former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss were detained in Erode and Kancheepuram for organising the protest, they said.

More than 6,000 police personnel have been deployed at the TASMAC outlets across the state in view of the protest.
