Days ahead of the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) initiated a special cleanliness drive in its premises today.
All officials and staff cleaned identified places within the PMO premises and removed old furniture, newspapers and other items for disposal, an official statement said.
The PMO is observing a cleanliness week from September 25 to October 2 and the Prime Minister will launch the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2.

Principal Secretary Nripendra Misra motivated the staff for the cleanliness drive during which disinfectants were also sprayed, the statement said.
The corridor walls were given a new look with painting and photo frames. Various competitions including essay, debate, painting competition and others have also been organised, the statement said.
