Poacher arrested for killing deer in MP

A poacher was arrested for allegedly killing a deer in the protected Devgarh forest area near Narsinghgarh town in the district, a senior forest official said today.

The poacher was caught during patrolling by the forest guards in Devgarh protected forest area yesterday along with the body parts of the deer, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nahar Singh said.

The poacher was identified as Kanhaiyalal and his three aides as Gopal, Padam and Banwari, who managed to escape from the spot, Singh said, adding, they all are residents of Devgarh.

Officials also recovered remains of the carcass of the animal on the basis of information provided by Kanhaiyalal.
 

A case has been registered against the four persons under relevant sections of Wildlife Protection Act and further investigations are on, he said.
