Refugees from the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) today clashed with police who stopped them from marching towards the Civil Secretariat.

The protesters, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir PoK Refugees Front-1947, 1965, 1971, staged an anti-government demonstration and held a protest march to the Secretariat, demanding one-time settlement and ownership rights.

The protesters, led by the front's leader Rachpal Singh, were carrying banners and placards, and raising slogans in support of their demands.

Talking to reporters, a front leader alleged that the state government had failed to resolve the issues of the refugees. "Only assurances have been given so far," he added.
