Political leaders cutting across party lines, sports persons, film stars were among a host of personalities who wished Congress president Rahul Gandhi on his 48th birthday today.
Apart from Congress leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief ministers of BJP ruling states Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Raghubar Das, and Union minister Vijay Goel greeted the Congress leader on Twitter.
In his message, former president Pranab Mukherjee said, "You have an unparalleled legacy of Nation Building behind you and an outstanding responsibility in the future. My best wishes and blessings on your Birthday."
Other prominent leaders who greeted the Gandhi scion were JD(U) rebel Sharad Yadav, AIUDF supremo M Badruddin Ajmal, JMM leader Hemant Soren, DMK president M K Stalin and TMC president Mamata Banerjee.
"I am overwhelmed by the birthday wishes that I have received from all corners of our country & abroad. Your greetings, blessings & prayers are my strength. I want to thank each & every one of you for remembering me today," Gandhi tweeted in response.
Besides politicians, film star Ritesh Deshmukh, film maker Shirish Kunder and sports persons Mohd Azharudin and Mohd Kaif greeted him.
Israel's ambassador to India and Sri Lanka Daniel Carmon joined other dignitaries in wishing Gandhi.
