Nine days after the mayhem at the administrative building and manhandling of senior varsity officials, a section of political science students today again went on a rampage in Kalyani University protesting low marks in M.A. Exqamination, varsity sources said tonight.

The agitating students, who alleged they were given below 50 per cent marks, vandalised the engineering department, locked it from outside last night and threatened to be back on Monday and resume the carnage if their marks were not hiked.

Vice-Chancellor Rattan lal Hangloo did not meet the mediapersons while the Dean, Arts faculty, Sumit Mukhopadhyay stated that a committee has been formed to look into the issue.

The incident followed the ruckus on February 17 as some workers, students and outsiders vandalized the administrative building.

Later West Bengal Higher Education minister Partha Chatterjee visited the campus.

So far 6 were arrested in that ransack and KU authorities suspended four of the arrested workers on Thursday.

While CM stated that no miscreants would be spared, 2 of the main accused were still absconding.
