Poland's anti-communist freedom icon Lech Walesa joined protesters today to oppose a judicial reform pushed through by the right-wing government but criticised by the EU as a threat to judicial independence.
"I come peacefully, I don't want to use arms," Walesa joked with the cheering protesters at the Supreme Court in Warsaw, adding that "if these protest will continue, I will come to join you now and then.
