The marriage of a 14-year-old girl was stopped by a team of women and child protection officials and the police in Kalwa village here, an official said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the team rushed to the venue and stopped the wedding yesterday, he said.
The girl's family tried to mislead the officials when they asked them to provide the proof of her age, the official said, adding the original document was later provided when police threatened to lodge a case against them.
