Three persons, including a notorious burglar, were arrested and 36 sovereigns of gold ornaments besides other items, totally valued at Rs 10 lakh, were seized from their possession at nearby Omalur, police said today.
There were complaints of frequent thefts in Suramangalam police limits in the city for the last two months, police said.
A house was burgled a fortnight ago and the image of Iyandurai, a notorious burglar, was captured in a CCTV camera installed at her house, police said.
The three were arrested during a vehicle check yesterday. Three two wheelers and mobile phones were also seized from their possession.
