Police arrest three in robbery case

Three persons, who allegedly robbed the house of a managing director of a multinational company two days ago and decamped with articles and cash worth around Rs 12.5 lakh, were arrested today, police said.

Those arrested have been identified as Rohit, Rahul and Khalil and police claim to have recovered entire robbed articles and the arms used in the crime on June 17.

According to police, Rohit along with Rahul and Khalil hatched a plan to rob the house.

Kahlil is a carpenter and he shared details of the victim's house.

On Tuesday last, two of the accused, posing as courier boys, entered in the house of manager on the pretext of delivering a packet in the name his wife when his servant was alone at the house in Greater Kailash locality.
 

They robbed articles worth around 12 lakhs, Rs 50,000 in cash, debit card and other documents, they said.

"During the investigation, it was found that someone had leaked the information to the robbers. All the workers, who had worked with the complainant's house in last few years, were screened and service providers such as carpenters, persons who came for repairing of grills, air conditioner, electricians, were also examined," said a senior police officer.

In which, police role of carpenter Khalil came under suspicion and he was interrogated, following which he confessed to him crime and named his accomplices.

"Khalil had approached Rohit for money for some urgent requirement. He shared details of victim's house with Rohit and accordingly, Rohit along with his friend Rahul planned and executed the robbery," the officer added.
